Our system failed to generate a signal today. None of our list of Watch List stocks had actual volume exceed calculated Dry Up Volume by 11:00 AM. All Watch List stocks also failed to achieve FRV by End of Day. As a result, we take no action today.

Thankfully, no actions detrimental to the financial markets occurred over the weekend. As a result, UBET continued to trend upward reaching $3.44 by EOD. In hindsight, we find it quite easy to say what we 'could have or 'should have' done differently. We "could have made" X dollars more, etc. Because the market continued to rise on Monday does not indicate our decision made on Friday was incorrect. We made our decision based on the uncertainty of the current geopolitical climate and out of a desire to protect our trading capital. In short, we decided to reduce our risk. As a result, we banked profits.

Never complain about what money you "could have made." Remain thankful for the profits you banked. The smart trader seeks to practice risk reduction techniques, and reducing your risk provides a means for long term protection of your trading capital. The market will always be there for us tomorrow providing another shooting star onto which we can attach our wagon. Without the capital required to trade, tomorrow never comes.

I hope you find the above information useful.

I was wondering if you use the indicators that Jack suggests to filter out stocks. I think it might be another thing you may want to add to your arsenal.

I use MACD (5, 13, 6) and The Stochastic Indicator (14, 1, 3) after a stock exceeds dry up to determine if a buy remains warranted or not. Are these the indicators to which you refer?

These are the indicators I also use. I would try using them before and after you enter a stock to determine if it is a good stock to enter. Preferebly, to weed out the stocks in a down or lateral trend.

Thank-you for your kind words, but much of the credit needs to go to the many individuals contributing on a daily basis to the success of this thread. In addition, Jack Hershey deserves our gratitude for freely sharing his methods in so many different venues across the Internet. I simply built on the work of others (including your thread inandlong). To paraphrase: "Standing on the shoulders of giants permitted me to reach higher."

Thanks again, and thanks to all that have freely contributed.

Good advice you provide here. I have looked at alternative exit strategies using MACD and The Stochastic Indicator to confirm trend continuation or reversal. Using this type of exit strategy increases the percentage profit on some trades (Recently: UBET & ANIK as two examples), while suggesting early exit on other trades. When this occurs, the 'wash' occurs with some profit (normally around 2%). On entry, a negative MACD and / or Stochastic below 50 keeps me out of the trade - indicating, at least to me, the increased likelihood of a failed breakout (but definitely 'lack of strong trend'). I agree that using the MACD and The Stochastic indicator with Jack's settings rather than the default settings creates a leading indicator rather than a reactive one.

Thanks for the tip.

Our system triggered two alerts today as actual volume exceeded calculated Dry Up Volume prior to 11:00 AM. Both HRT and NVEC triggered a signal. Both MACD and The Stochastic Indicator held at levels required for trade confirmation. Everything appeared fine. However, both HRT and NVEC currently have a float outside normal parameters.

We look for stocks that:

1. Have a float less than 60,000,000

2. Have a float greater than 5,000,000

HRT Float: 1,800,000

NVEC Float: 2,100,000

Since neither HRT nor NVEC were 'tenured' stocks (in that I have never traded them for a profit), I did not trade these two signals. Could you have traded them? Of course. As has been stressed many times, Jack often breaks his own rules when it comes to his 'tenured' stocks. Jack uses this 'float' rule to (again) minimize his risk. According to Jack Hershey, float that exceeds our maximum indicates (to Jack) that too many shares are available for purchase - increasing the likelihood that price won't rapidly improve. Float that fails to reach our minimum indicates a stock that could easily find itself manipulated one way or another. Jack may choose to break the float rule with his "old trusted friends" residing in his list of tenured stocks. Remember, Jack seeks to reduce his risk, as well as, increase his money velocity. We would be wise to do the same. Since the float of any stock can (and often does) change over time, we keep these two stocks in our 'Final Universe.'

I hope you find the above information useful.
