Quote from Jack Hershey:

A change of signs of the value is the cursory measure and its fineness is not to fine. A smoothing function is done, of course. People do not observe first and second derivatives automatically at first. It is simply learned as a consequence of a repeated formal or informal drill.

Thanks Jack, for your highly detailed and informative post. I appreicate your contributions (both past and present) to our efforts. With reference to the above quoted text, could you provide a set of drills which by completing might augment our transition toward recognizing the derivatives automatically? I for one would find the exercise extremely useful. Thanks.

I sold my remaining shares this morning - exiting with another small profit. After selling the more expensive shares on Friday, my new basis became $19.56 USD, and I sold at $19.61 USD. Total profit on the entire transaction came to around $53.00 USD. Judging from the current price action, I exited much too early. Congrats to those of you still hanging in there.

This might not be the appropriate forum to post this question, but I thought the people here might be interested as well. In reading some of Jack's previous work I have read about numerous drills he recommends people do. One is an excercise where you just try to trade for pushes for an extended period of time (I think he mentioned a month or so). Does anyone know if there is a list of these drills anywhere? I have seen him reference them a few times, but I've only ever seen one or two explained in one spot.

Thanks!

In and out for even money... so techincally you make a bit on the trade to cover the vig - coms and slippage.

I sold my shares of REDF for a 5% gain today.

Nice Job, gooch87. I hope everyone else followed your lead and held on to experience the gains REDF provided today. Keep up the great work.

Did you mean a wash trade?
If I remember correctly, that's how Mr Hershey calls that type of trades.
