REDF is not part of my FU either....but for those that had it, more power to them!

well ,fwiw, my list comes from stocktables.com for RS and EPS > 80 , then I check the float by using MSN screener deluxe (Total Shares Outstanding) , then the list goes through Spydertrader's FANTASTIC scripts.
AMEN:p

Quote from bdolnik:

That's weird that you don't have it in your Final Universe Spyder... I also had KNDL, NFLX and REDF in DU today.

I must have missed adding it somewhere along the line. I have it added now. Better late than never I suppose.

Quote from bdolnik:

All the indicators lined up perfectly for REDF this morning and I got in at 17.65

Glad to hear things worked out for you. Keep up the great work.

Quote from nkhoi:

all it take is a junior analyst somewhere realizes what you guy are doing and then forward the selection to the head trader :p

A rising tide still lifts all boats. Besides, the CANSLIM folks have a much larger group of traders moving the market. When our lists and theirs overlap, we really see the stocks move.

Quote from mark1:

out half position REDF 18.90 + $1.28 + %7.2 paper (sigh) :D

The market and the really good trades will still be here when you decide to move from papertrading to real dollars. Continue to focus on execution, and don't worry about the missed opportunities. More equities like BOOM and REDF are just over the horizon.

Quote from tradingbug:

Well I hope they continue to push me in REDF in this instance.

You raise a good point though as to whether I want everyone knowing what I do. I really don't know. I take Jacks word for it.

Anyway, if there were any people I would like to help, it would be the people in this thread.

When price and volume start to move, we want a certain number of people to join the market and push our trades higher. Human nature being what it is, a few people will always try to front run the signals. Occasionally, those front runners get burned, and they'll surmise the system doesn't work. At that point, we can expect them to go out and search for another "Holy Grail." Continue to focus on what you can control - good entry, good exit, correct execution and sound money management.

I agree. Excellent work folks.

Jack never show any concern about who follow his method so this thread could dispelled another conventional wisdom 'if more people know about it the less effective it become'

I've been using 90 and 80 for RS and EPS respectively. From now on, I'll use 80 for both. Thanks for sharing how you arrived at REDF in your FInal Universe.

Congratulations to all of you who were in REDF today (or still are). It's good to hear that the methodology has the same potential when extended to a slightly larger number of names.

I'm still long IRIS after yesterday AM signal.

You are welcome.
I think the list with 80 -90 is only 75 symbols long, and 141 with 80-80.

I opted for abundance

Good morning. I think the reason Spydertrader did not have REDF on his hot list for this am. is because it has negative earnings.
1. Have a float less than 60,000,000

2. Have a float greater than 5,000,000

3. Have a 65-day average volume above 200,000 shares

4. Have positive EPS.

****Remember: The above 4 points MUST apply to the stocks you KEEP. If the stock doesn't have the above 4 criteria, you MUST eliminate the stock from your Hotlist.****

I have to admit I did add REDF to my hot list because earnings were so close -0.01

Although...
A note of warning: REDF rose on a strong sector move today. The Nasdaq computer index is up 1.10%.

In this chart I overlayed REDF with the ISE50, the nasdaq computer index.

As we all have seen it all depends on which source you choose for your data.

Even if I think that in the long run the profit for missed or added trades will even out , we could post our daily list in the morning here ( it takes just 1 minute), to compare.
Always if Spyder is ok with the idea.

Compare this with BOOM action vs. the Nasdaq industrial index for yesterday 12/5.
