Hi 10k1d
I start on the daily fractal. Like cipherscribe said, the price was approaching the bottom of the channel. So where to enter… I zoomed into the 30 min. fractal, and the indicators were moving in the right direction. (I missed the crucial point that there was no increase in volume. I see it now that I am explaining my trade.) Instead, I zoomed in closer to the 5min. fractal to see what it looked like. There was one pennant and another forming as I watched. I was also watching the size of the orders on level 11 to see where the buyers and sellers were. I really forgot about the big picture at this point. (volume increasing then price trend continues)

....

Thank you gooch87, and cipherscribe too.

Spyder, what's your thoughts on these stocks?

ANEN - already have it in my Final Universe
ICE - Looks Good, but may be too high priced for small accounts
LQDT - Low Volume but improving
NVEC - close enough on the float

september trades attached - if not i pasted the trades. The charts for the biggest winner, GIGM Sept 7, and the biggest loser, NEU Sept 5 look almost identical up till the trade entry days. I was trying to determine a chart pattern that I can avoid these large losers. The best that I can figure out is to avoid chart patterns when there are not 3 points on the charts forming an upward sloping channel. This chart pattern would have helped me avoid some of my biggest losers over the past few months but would not of helped with September's biggest loser.

8833,

I'm no expert in chart pattern but by looking at your summary, I feel your 09/05 7.1% lose on NUE could be lower if you used a tighter stop, say 5%. I understand how your put the stop really depends on your position sizing strategy. However, I personally feel allowing a single trade to lose >5% for a potential return of <20% is too risky.

Also, your loss on JOBS and another NUE trade happened in the same day and it seems like you didn't employ the 2% stop (Ross') rule.

Hope this helps. Thank you.
