If you need a Chartscript for obtaining screenshots or for posting to the Journal without all the clutter, I have created one with the Updated MACD Histogram located here.

Quote from Spydertrader:

Sometimes, these rocket trades take off and never look back - for months at a time (see GROW a couple months back). In other instances, the rocket launches skyward, only to return back to earth just as quickly. Whether in rising markets or in the middle of declining markets, I have always felt it best to take some money off the table every so often. For example, on a 1000 share position, I might remove 250 shares after reaching a dollar per share profit, and another 250 shares once price reached a certain percentage profit target (or higher portion of the IT Channel). While certainly, scaling out of the position reduces the overall profits, doing so protects (banks) a portion of the gains in an effort to safeguard against a falling, and rapidly accelerating, downward spiral in price. As always, your mileage may vary.

Thank you for your insight,

funny you should mention GROW, it was the first and til now only position I have had that went 10%...

This method has a large component which is discretionary - it's up to the trader to manage the rocket trade depending on how it behaves... explains why the backtesters get their knickers in a knot... :D

Ouch.

Paper trades:

Sell GIGM 8.10 ~10:20am Wash
Sell IVAC 23.90 ~10:20am Wash
Sell NTRI 63.76 ~10:20am -2.9%

Sell ARD 34.54 ~11am (held until 30' stoch < 80) +1.6%
Sell ALJ 35.85 ~11am (held until 30' stoch < 80) +1% / wash

This shows to me that I will have to monitor my open trades on the 30 minute chart if capital preservation is the order of the day.

Very nice, and there were clues for those who were looking on the final 30 minute volume bar the day before. Sometimes FRV starts the afternoon before and this may be missed in the EOD analysis.

I'll look into adding other data sources and giving the option of importing a final universe from a common source as well.

I added a button that retrieves the 65 day avg. vol. from Yahoo historical quotes using the actual last 65 days of trading volume so it is an up to date accurate number.

Hey rcar, would there be anyway to add Float and EPS to the program? Then all the culling parameters would be all in one spot with 65 Avg. Vol/Float/EPS.

Sure I could do that.
