Journal One showed a 113% return. Jack has provided some insight (in his posts to Journal Two) how one might transition to higher rates of return. As a result, many traders following this thread have added another set up - Jack's 'Bruno R' Method (as it has come to be known). Initial backtesting (and current walk forward analysis with real dollars) definitely show in improved rate of return by combining these methods, and not simply relying on Dry Up alone to initiate a trade. As a result, I anticipate improved results over last year. More importantly than my own results, other traders following these methods have profitted (either via simulator [while still in the testing phase] or using real dollars). Numerous posts throughout Journal Two document these gains.

Anyone else retiring BOOM due to no longer holding rank? There are a few more that currently don't have rank, such as CERS, but only lost it in the past 3 - 4 days. As such, I'm keeping them in the universe until they lose rank for a couple of weeks. A good case in point is FORD. It lost rank 2 days before its recent surge. Removing it from our universe on the day it had lost rank would've meant we missed out on 2 x 10%+ trades.
As you know, I normally delete, and the end of each month, all equities which fail to maintain rank. Currently, BOOM, CERS & RATE each have lost their respective ranks within the last month. I have chosen to wait a few days before deleting these three stocks in order to give them an opportunity to finish their current price runs. If these three stocks fail to reacquire their rank by the end of this week, I plan to delete all three.

I just read the "Bruno R" attachment and it looks just like the method that's being used already in this thread (i.e. the mainline vanilla short-term method). The key elements are quality universe, cyclic stocks, breakout of dry-up volume, MACD and Stoch for entry.
The only difference I saw was the inclusion of an intermediate term method which was new to me.

Last night, severe storms knocked out power and cable all around the area in which I live. Although the respective companies restored their connections early this morning, cable again went out this morning 2 minutes before the opening bell. As a result, I did not have an opportunity to purchase REDF until price had already run up $1.72 USD per share (I passed). I hope some of you caught that move. However, I did have a chance to purchase FMD upon regaining cable access. I currently hold 400 shares at a basis of $43.35 USD.

Any number of things could have caused your connection difficulties. I rarely lose a connection with the QCharts servers, but it depends on the specific server connection. When using QCharts, holding down the Ctrl + Alt + N keys allows you to change between servers. This way you won't have to wait to obtain a more stable (or faster) conenction.
