(Hey, you just hit 2000 posts spyder)

I just finished a convenience program that takes the stocktables output file as input and gets the earnings, float and avg volume from yahoo. It works really well for cutting the drudgery of culling but it's only as good as the data!

I did a spot check of some of the data and it agreed reasonable well with msn except for the anomalous stocks. Good enough for culling anyway.

Some questions:

1) Regarding quotetracker setup, is the stochastics you use the one labeled "slow stochastics"?

2) Regarding FMCN, since it (I think) hit FRV yesterday but the MACD and stoch weren't lined up, would you've entered today when they did?

Cool. Thanks for pointing it out. Otherwise, I wouldn't have noticed (Edit: 2001 now !! :D )

Excellent method for saving yourself time during the culling process.

Just make sure to double check your numbers now and then to avoid any anomalies. I have often erred at this point by not double checking my numbers.

The following link provides a detailed set up instruction post. Scroll down a few more posts on the page and I respond to another Question by jim.ny with respect to others Quotetracker set up questions. Always backfill your charts when using unregistered versions of Quotetracker to insure proper indicator calculations.

I didn't have FMCN in my Final Universe until last night. However, I did have it in my Watch list for today based on a Stochastic (5,2,3) set up Jack discussed in the Bruno R USENET post. Unfortunately, I was nowhere near my computer when the FMCN started its run today - not returning until after 2:00 PM Eastern Time. As a result, I missed the big move. However, if you draw in some channel lines using a 30 minute chart, you should see where price breaks through the downward short term channel creating an entry signal. Later, price bounces off the intermediate term downward channel and follows along attempting to break though. See attached chart.

Interesting about the Wealth-Lab script not having BOOM as ranked.

Attached is the screenshot from my Amibroker interpretation of the ranking script

<a href="http://imageshack.us"><img src="http://img149.imageshack.us/img149/6340/boomrank6sc.png" border="0" width="763" alt="Image Hosted by ImageShack.us" /></a>

The ranking days are:

--GAIN 1--
Gain 1 = 7.43 Gain Percent = 31%
Days = 6 Date: 12/12/2005
--GAIN 2--
Gain 2 = 9.74 Gain Percent = 43%
Days = 6 Date: 6/12/2005
--GAIN 3--
Gain 3 = 7.63 Gain Percent = 38%
Days = 6 Date: 7/11/2005
--GAIN 4--
Gain 4 = 6.11 Gain Percent = 30%
Days = 4 Date: 3/11/2005
--GAIN 5--
Gain 5 = 4.44 Gain Percent = 25%
Days = 2 Date: 26/9/2005

Average Gain = 7.07
Rank = 7.13

Spyder, which of those are "tenured"? Some would have been filtered out by stocktables due to price or rank by now.

According to Hershey Equities Rank v. 3.0.0, FORD HANS MTEX NGAS SFCC VPHM each currently maintain their rank. Although FORD and HANS currently fall outside our optimal price parameters, both have held a place in the Final Universe for over 18 months.

Attached, please find a snippet of your Amibroker chart. Notice the two most recent 20% runs (indicated by white lines). These two most recent 20% runs overlap. One cannot 'count' two overlapping price runs as individuals when they in fact overlap to combine a single gain of just over 20%. Eliminating one of the overlapping runs brings BOOM below the minimum cycle threshold of 5 times in six months.
