I don't think the math checks out. Over time, it compounds to more than 3x. It's just 3x on the day. Also, TQQQ is safer than buying 3 times QQQ on margin. Of course, the downside also can make it lose more.

or a bit less depending on its trend path FOR people that worry about the end of the trend\should avoid all the leveraged ETFs. OR some periods like SEPT+I dont worry about that ,when a selling bear is likely, SPY/QQQ or SDS is better.......................................................................................

He may have meant 2008\ BUT 2018 SPY + QQQ did go below 200day moving average some .
AS far as buying every month for 40 years in SPY[or QQQ] , is one of the most common ways to become a millionaire. + market making/specialists.
I've seen the long term IBD {Investors Business Daly] chart/IF you bought for 40 years @ only the 52 week HI, exactly/ still can make millions if done for 40 years most likely.

There is a good reason SPY/investment has better volume than SPXS + I 've traded them both.
