SPX Credit Spread Trader

Mo,

I didn't mean to offend you. I am too greatful to this board. I had no idea of what making 1K consistently in the stock market was before I started reading your thread. I really like the concept of Spread trading and I put what I learn from this board + my analysis to develop a technique that gives monthly return. Last month, I made 5K and I am looking at making 6K to 7K this month. I have been working only with 40K to start. This is not a bad return at all. I owe everything to you guys especially Coach.

I am very open to criticism and I don't mind making mistakes since they are good lessons for me and I try not to repeat them.

Mo,

If I offended you, I am so sorry. At the same time, thanks to everybody on this board, I learn so much about money management and consistently making monthly return.

Until next time, Good trading

There was no need to dignify my thinly veiled sceptisicm with a response! I'm sure you have everything under control though I do think your minimum projections might be a little optimistic unless the market continues it's relentless sideways shuffle in perpetuity. In future, best to ignore my ramblings but congratulations once again!

As just mentioned, I'm just cranky on one of my positions so engaging me in debate at this time will not be fruitful and I would also like to take this opportunity to say two further words: GOOGLE SUCKS

Mo,

Being a "lurker" I haven't posted much. I would like to say that I really appreciate the Coach's and your efforts to educate part--timers like us.

Honestly I find it hard to keep up with all the excellent information posted by you guys here... let alone post myself.

My hope is that maybe in one year Ill pay it forward...

Why wait a year? Let me give you my pay pal account LOL

Just kidding....

I wonder what we need to get our lurkers to jump in lol.

I work full time for the Univ that lost in the Rose bowl :(

As a result they make us work real hard so that we can buy a better team hehehe

The only reason I lurk rather than post is that my current processing speed for options is still rather slow. I am getting better.... Meanwhile here is my contribution

Have had great success doing above with minimal risk.

Mo, Thanks for the butterfly links.

1) What indexes do you trade butterflies on? XEO/MNX...?

2) When do you generally open a position (10 days before expiration)?

3) How do you decide on the short/long strikes?
long strikes at support/resistence, or +- 1 1/2 std. deviation away from index price?

4) Do you sell the "baby flies", or the short options, or ......

5) When do you adjust the fly into a condo?

The butterfly strategy seems interesting. Any help you can provide is much appreciated.

Coach:
Thanks for testing the "baby fly" strategy. You make the learning process so much easier.

That is not a bad return, it is a GREAT return!
Are you doing this with credit or debit spreads, and on what underlying?
