SPX Credit Spread Trader

Question for Mav.

Right now I'm busy building my business, but in 5 to 7 years, when I plan to retire, I want to become a serious option trader.

What does a retail trader need to do in order to qualify to eventually open up an account with your firm (I'm assuming you only have prop accounts but could be wrong on that).

I'm just curious about the process.

rd,

with best wishes at heart perhaps you should also look into moving to less leverage intensive strats vs seeking even more leverage. Not that i am against going prop, just something to think about in my opinion.

Point taken. I suspect that that will be part of my strategy diversification over the next five or so years.

I signed up for TOS and just downloaded the software. can you please walk me through the procedure to model this double diagonal in the simuated trades.

I guess it will take me a couple of days to figure all these out.thanks, appreciate it..

Well, I finally had to put in my hedge.

After the CPI index release this morning, I went long 3 ES DEC futures at 1333 againt my 18 OCT 1335/1350 bear call spreads. My delta for the whole ES position is now -15. My gamma was already pretty neutral, so this puts a floor at 1:2 risk/reward for about 2 weeks. I'm still at +300 vegas so volatility drops will still hurt me.

Damn... the SET could be high today.

The trading plan called for exiting any shorts within 10 pts... pushed the limite alittle yesterday with close at 1216.

Hope it's not a lesson to learn..... again.
