I hear Norway's not bad.

Norway is very specific nice country, but cold.

We are planning to move down South Europe soon, which is actually a challenge, as you have to choose between Spain and France.

Wome...I mean restaurants are no longer cheap anywhere in the world due to women`s lib spreading internationally (Donna, don`t kill me, just kiddin`):D

I lived in many places in my life so I can say - if your wife is from there, it would make everything much easier.

Why is that a challenge, I hear Spain rocks!?

You need to speak French or Spanish. And service standards are much lower, especially in Spain. There is no use of English in Spain, big cities like Barcelona included.

Subway in Paris still has no AC and summers are hot someytimes, but bullet trains..are just great. They are better than planes on medium distances.

Panama has a lot of great things. US dollar so no currency woes. With the U.S. influence for so long, the city is very modern. One of the few countries in Latin America you can drink water straight from the tap. Cost of living is much less than in U.S. so many goods are cheaper. Attorneys living very well are making maybe $4 - $5K a month on the high end. Full internet and cellphone service all over. 2 hours from Miami and 4.5 hours from NY. Live in help costs nothing either.

And most important of all....... no extradition treaty with U.S. LOL...

Almost every doctor or lawyer I met got their degree from the US. Remember the U.S. had their own Canal Zone for almost 100 years so the US influence in education is strong. The education system is very good. As for your own children, there are numerous private Catholic and non-secular schools in English and Spanish. Several universities have satellite campuses or programs here. I went to a dentist there who was a friend of the family and he got his DDS from U. of Penn. Health care is cheaper based on my wife's experiences in comparing here to there. Also lots of private clinics around.
