Tried spotify and was initially impressed. However, I listen to some fairly esoteric music and I wasn't able to find everything on Spotify which was a letdown.
Also, Pandora makes it much easier to find new or unheard of stuff.
Spotify interface feels really clumsy and poor in terms of bringing stuff to me that I want versus me going and finding it. It works good if I know what I want. Desktop download is cool but lack of web interface means I may not be able to play at work which Pandora works well for.
Spotify is very good.. but I wouldn't call it a pandora killer, yet.. It could be if it made music easier to find and continues to add labels. Pandora offers a service that just isn't available in any other form -- yet.
Spotify feels rough around the edges. It does offer a service that is most similar to having a large mp3 collection but not seeing much in terms of value added service.
Do the songs work after they are downloaded if I cancel my service? This could be the key deciding factor for me. I don't like that it depends on Facebook for finding tracks/songs. I don't use Facebook when I can help it.
PS:
I search for several labels to see what I could find:
