The US really needed to be humbled like that to wake up. I was actually hoping the US would lose as I was quite sick of their rich-boy, arrogant attitudes. When Lithuania nearly beat 'em a few years ago I was rooting like crazy for Donnie Nelson and his crazy Lithuanian white boys!

Not to take anything away from Argentina, Alfonso. They played brilliantly. But just wait until the next Olympics when we have not only our best players there but actually take the time to train together.

Now THAT's.... the American way.

You got that right! Man, I was enjoying the hell out of seeing Zo and Co. sweat it against Lithuania!

As far as the World Championships, yeah, the US definitely got its ass handed to it big-time. Definitely have to give props to Argentina, Spain, and Russia I believe. Did I get that right? Aw well, if the US loses at the Olympics it'll just be another sign that the rest of the world has caught up to us. In fact, in the fundamentals at least, much of the world already surpasses us. It ain't all about dunking.

Quote from OPTIONAL777:

I am human. I saw the pain in the eyes of the Lakers. I saw Derek Fisher crying, saw Kobe fighting back the tears.

I understand that pain, I understand the feeling of powerless, that there is nothing you can do, but to live with those feelings.

If there was anything I could do, anything at all, I would.....

DIE, DIE, DIE YOU FUCKING LOSERS!!!

Imagine the late great Sam Kinnison screaming this! This comes close to how I feel about watching them lose.

I think Optional now moves to the top on my poll about who is most likely to go to work with an automatic weapon :D :D

Only if I find out Kobe is my boss.

Shaq you all time number one pick? Come on....

Shaq is among the top 5 centers of all time, but Hakeem schooled him when he was young, Russell would know how to play him, Wilt would be a challenge, and Kareem would drop 30+ on him with ease.

Of all the centers, I would go with Kareem. Unstoppable....and when he wanted to play defense, he could.

Kareem won championships in Milwaukee when he was young, and later on with the Lakers.

People forget how dominant he actually was.

You're a racist aren;t you?????? That's why you hate the black man Kobe........and Love Tim Duncan:D

Yes, I love Ducan, Webber, TMac, MJ, KG and hate Kobe. Racism at work.

No way....all those other centers had a BIG advantage over shaq.....they were the focal point of the offense....everytime down court, Karreem, Akeem and WIlt got the ball to go through them....Shaq has a higher scoring avg then Kar. and AKem. yet he often goes 5-10 minute stretches without touching the ball!!!.

I said it before and I'll say it again: If I had Shaq, form the opening tip until halftime, no shot would be taken in the 1/2 court game unless Shaq first touched the ball.....also, The other centers you mentioned did not have to play against a zone...like shaq has their past two years...

he's not racist. He's just spiteful and self-righteous. When he picked the Lakers to win, it was a no-lose situation for him. Either the Lakers won, thus "proving" his NBA conspiracy theory and legitimating his ugly worldview, or the Spurs won, thus satisfying his hatred. Either way, the most important thing of all - his bitterness - would remain protected.

Great sportsmanship, you poser.
