Quote from MondoTrader:

I just think we are ready to rally. We've had two big reversal days recently and the volume on the down days is fairly light.

Yep, that's it I think.

Quote from qdz2:

what a pity, options markets don't have extended hours. I suggest they start to extend just one hour each or even just half an hour before open and after close.

:p

OptionsXpress allows customers to place Pre-Market Orders for OEX, DJX and RUT options. The pre-market trades are valid between 8:00 am - 9:15 am. But I think the bid-ask spreads will be huge.

:p :p :p
:D :D :D

if you are looking for a news explanation, I saw this blurb:

"CNN quoted a senior U.S. official as saying that some Iraqi military personnel may have already agreed not to fight should a U.S.-led force invade Iraq to disarm President Saddam Hussein.

It reported that communications with these Iraqi military officials were not being handled by the Pentagon, but by other "elements'' within the U.S. government. "

the fills would indeed be horrible, wouldn't they? with that kind of opportunity, one wonders why they haven't done it already.

They already have, for certain options @ CBOE Direct.

I am back after a nap. :)

my guess is that this is a "patriot" rally to support U.S. and Bush, just like the one before mid-term elections. It is manipulation anyway. Do you agree?

:p

about a patriot rally -- there doesn't seem to be anywhere near the catalyst nor the popular sentiment now that there was then.

this is a strange animal.

i knocked off around 10:30 est and am back to see that I missed a great deal of follow through (not surprised about that, however).

this could be a very constructive development. significant, either way (whether it winds up being support or resistance).

it is a patriot rally. riches, capitalists, fund owners, financial advisors, market markers, and specialists are mostly GOP patriots. they have more power to move the market the way they want in a short term, either first down and then up or vice versa.

do you agree with me?

:p
