Spiralling Outta Control... Democrats Seek Millionaire Tax Surcharge

Quote from MohdSalleh:

france has this millioaire tax

Yeah, but at least in France they can have non-taxed offshore accounts and you don't get taxed if you don't live in france for more than six months of the year.

We're worse than France now? That's really saying something.

Maybe we're Greece in the making.

California is already there.

Yes, it is. Oh joy. I think this country has 10 years - 15, tops. That's how long it will take medicare, medicaid, social security and Obamacare to turn the whole country into Greece.

Whats wrong with being Greece? Work til your 53, get paid for 14 months a year and when the well runs dry send the bill to Germany. Sounds pretty cozy to me. lol!

California's example isn't enough?

Sounds great! But we don't have a Germany.. :(

Quote from SomeYoungGuy:

If you want to juice your local economy, do the exact opposite of this.

What if you said lower taxes for the rich in your state? Wouldn't that provide an incentive for rich people to move in with all their money? Give a rebate, not a sales tax, for purchasing items that were produced locally. Half-off of the tax on food in restaurants that are locally owned and operated. If your state has an auto assembly plant, free vehicle registration for those cars.

This fella should be publicly flogged for talking common sense :)

I thought I heard a Greek politician claim they would not be in this mess if they had "just compensation" from Germany for the Nazi era. It seems its always the fault of someone else!

Apparently not. Nor does it seem that Greece is, yet. :(
