Spelling and Trading

I've never been school smart but I've made millions of dollars being very street smart.

It all comes down to motivation.

If you want to be a trader so you can use your intellect I think your in trouble, thinking too much on Wall St. is a not a good idea. In my "personal experiences" with Wall St I've found the richest are usually the ones with the most street smarts, so I guess the question is would you rather be rich or would you rather be intelligent.
 
My view is that it's clarity that's important. If one is able to communicate clearly and unambiguously the odd spelling mistake / typo can be forgiven.

Of course like many who have the gift of spelling in my darker moments I'm an unfeeling fascist, and believe that any human (or I suppose machine) daring to violate the sacrosanct laws of grammar or spelling (or idiomatic usage come to that) should be exiled and/or possibly shot. If this could somehow be triggered by MS Word's spell-check utility it would be fantastically (or catastrophically, depending on your point of view) efficient.

Interesting that nobody has mentioned the possibility that some people on this forum may be dyslexic.

It's just assumed that those who make spelling mistakes must be ill-educated.
