I'm no tech wizard, but can you tell me how a 0 ping time is possible? Also, not to split hairs, but Genesis is faster to Brut according to the websites, and Speedtrader doesnt report Arca speed, which Genesis is 1.5ms. BTW, I trade on Genesis's API and I am AMAZED how fast it is!!

Probably because their servers are in the same building as INET, so you can't really get any faster than that.

BRUT and INET are merging to single book, so I can't see what BRUT ping time even matters for going forward.

As far as what was discussed earlier, everybody obviously doesn't get the same rates. You think everybody on elite has even close to the same rates, even those who have accounts at the same brokerage? I don't think so, its just not how business works. Ideally that would be nice, but practically speaking it doesn't happen, so lets move on with reality.
I say show some initiative and go after the good rate and you'll probably get it. I have always done pretty well negotiating with brokers.

Agreed. Just remember the bigger your cash balance the more they will usually bend over to get you as a customer.

I disagree slightly. I think the most important thing to these firms is how often you trade, not really how much capital you have. They make most of their money based on trading volume.

Obviously you need over $25,000 just to day trade, so thats a necessity capital wise.
Beyond that I think a guy with $40k in his account who trades 2000 times a month could generally get better rates than someone with $200k trades who only makes 100 trades a month.
