Spanish89- Opportunist Trades (2nd journal)

Quote from spanish89:

Just to update my journal-

I bought the Cac 40 at 3075.6 yesterday evening at £3.50 per point,
stoploss was at 3019,
target was at 3196.

When the Cac opened it gapped down 4% instantly,
touching 3015 at its lowest and so stopping me out,
and then over the next 2hours rocketedup 5%!!

And that 4% crash, then 5% rocket up just 2hours later, wasn't based on anything fundamental whatsoever.
None of the other indicies did anything even remotely close to that, and there has been no french specific news out to cause that.

I dont believe that such a thing as ''fate'' exists.

However i do accept that the reality is that some people have almost constant good-luck wheras others have almost constant bad-luck,
and some people just go through phased of extreme bad-luck in every aspect of their life.

And ive identified that currently i am going through a phase of extreme bad luck!

As for almost all the trades i made for the 1st 4months if id left them to run beyond where i cashed them in id have made 2-6x the amount of profit on most of them,
but for the past 2months when ive now started leaving trades to keep trending, instead of cashing in after 0.60% - 1% moves,
ive encountered problems with almost all of the trades.

And this latest Cac trade,
where the market crashed down 4% just to touch my stop by few pips (based on no news),
then rocketed up 5% in under 2 hours to above where my entry had been,
had confirmed my decision that currently i am experiencing extreme badluck no matter what i do.

And so ive moved both my target-orders to break-even,
and when the are hit im withdrawing all my money,
spending a large amount of it going on a nice 3week holiday,
and then going to restart trading some time in january or febuary next year... :)

So where are you going on holiday, Spanish?

Quote from The Trojan:

So what happened to your S&P trade?

Bad luck when you lose and when you have a profitable trade it's because of your expertise?

lol

A genius only when he wins... the guy's a young kid and obviously will need another 10-15 years to learn humility. I find that if the markets beats the crap out of you enough, you do become humble; only then do you start trading better!

"Spanish"....... you are so typical; bad luck when wrong, when right you're a wunderkind, prodigy trader!

You still in your oil short, Spanish?
How much money are you losing on it?
It gave me a kicking too, lol - but whilst i'm working full time Im only trading small size so not the end of the world.

Good luck

Either that or suicide

My S&P trade is between 1-2% against me,
so merely the range of a quiet typical day.

Oil, im not sure what the market price currently is, although im not especiallt bothered as im in no rush.

And i only losr £200 on my cac 40 trade, so not something that im going to cry about. :)

And im going to be going to brazil.

ask the The Girl From Ipanema which way oil is heading... she might get it correct.

do you see the problem with picking tops... with no reversal signal or topping pattern? Unless you have deep pockets like Jimmy Rogers, Richard Dennis or Soros et.al.! However I doubt you had an actual position

Quote from beachhouse:

Get out today or tomorrow morning. I have a feeling that oil will go above 100 on Wednesday.

If you want to get your money back, liquidate your short position. Reverse direction, buy every dip and sell at pop, repeat, until Wednesday.

After Wednesday, the shit is going to crash. Then you can short as much as you wish (how much in your account, by the way?)

Did you follow my advice?
