Catalans no longer want to be a "source of funds" for Spain's indigent parasites and Lefty idealist/power-hungry politicos... and the government comes down on them with hob-nail jack boots?

A lesson here for Americans (what's left of us).

They're only following the example of Abraham Lincoln.

Honestly, if California attempted to secede, it would pose a real dilemma for us. It would certainly be attractive to be rid of them. On the other hand, Trump could invade them, arrest all their leaders and impose martial law, so that would be an excellent outcome as well.

Invading them (assuming this was even possible for a moment), arresting the leaders and imposing martial law wouldn't get rid of all the lunatics and illegals living off the government.

True but why does that have to be the only objective? Can't we have some fun too?

We can put them to work on the wall. Under martial law, there will be no right to a hearing before deportation. Round'em up, ship'em out. Trump will appoint Erick Prince as his ViceRoy for California. He will teach them to bend the knee.
