Not a bad idea. Though it would create sharply increased inflation seeing as we import far more than we export. Much of it from countries whose standard of living would demand inclusion in this sort of tax code.
Agreed! That is why I think that Western society is on the road to destruction. Adding a tax based upon standard of living would be a difficult choice. Western societies of today rarely (if ever) make difficult choices.
