Very likely getting some cancers from water, food, etc... but doesn't explain the recent surge in cancers. We didn't suddenly start drinking more poisonous water or food.

Cancers, hypertension, diabetes, kidney problems and unusual serious health problems have been increasing for many decades although the world has developed better treatments and improved technology for early disease detection for these diseases/illnesses.
As stated multiple times...the forever toxins has been in our water supply for many decades...not suddenly as you implied. The problem, we've basically been ignoring it and continue to expect the government to fix the problem that has been well documented/studied/peer-reviewed/tested for several decades.
With that said, the recent surge was specifically explained BEFORE in the other message post associated specifically with the Delta Variant of Covid and in communities with economic & social disparities during the Pandemic @ https://www.elitetrader.com/et/threads/sorry-another-covid-thread.361537/page-89#post-5916172
In college, we did studies on lab rats/mice that were active and then "suddenly" minimized (reduced) their activity (producing a sedentary lifestyle) while increasing their intake of highly processed foods, and sugary beverages along with reducing their social interaction...
They had unusually high numbers of cancers and another unusually high number of diseases/illnesses across all age groups in comparison to another test group of active rats/mice maintained in a normal environment with, a healthy diet with social interaction.
Now correlate the above to what the governments around the world did during the Pandemic...
Lockdowns, school/university closures, minimized social interaction, reduced access to proper healthcare (no early detection of diseases/illnesses), increased smoking, increased alcohol consumption, increased highly processed foods consumption, and increased sugary beverages consumption...
Most of these cancers in our society during/after the Pandemic began from problems with our digestive system...the same as it did in those lab rats/mice we study in college in the late 80s.
“Diet directly affects microbiome composition and eventually these changes can influence disease risk and outcomes.”
By the way, in the U.S. military...we have an unusual number of military veterans die within one year after retirement...
Retired people, especially those in the first year of retirement, are about 40 percent more likely to experience a heart attack or stroke than those who keep working...this is before the Pandemic.
My point about the military, retirement is the sudden change in lifestyle to a sedentary lifestyle like the way we experienced during the Pandemic.
Disease/Mortality rates do factually increase...not decrease. Also, it's one of the reasons why family doctors encourage elderly patients to continue working as long as possible...it delays their mortality and gives a Doctor a longer living paying patient.
