Soros to marry for third time with three-day New York celebration

Quote from Pekelo:

Really? That would be being poor AND young. I would rather be young even if poor, then old and rich.

You seem to be forgetting that we don't get to choose our age. If you're already old and rich, then the alternatives are: stay old and rich; become old and poor; die. Old and rich seems the best option there.

Indians continue to have arranged marriage, parents check wether the stars (or whathever exact superstition they use ) match, but also that their physical stature and socio professional stature match. I know quite a few indian couples, in Asia and Europe and the rate of failure seem to be (much) lower than that of non arranged marriages among non indians. Culture pressure to stay together prolly play a part but it seems largely that the arrangements were smart from the beginning, smarter than getting married out of alledged and fleeting love (which is often a big part of lust).

Mega LOL: and many indians married for many years are caught by the police when the Police starts some anti-underage operations...
There is appearance and reality. :)

luisHK : ask yourself where/who/who taught you about relationships, marriages, etc...
for many : Hollywood ( TV, mass media). :p. Did they spend a little of time and money finding out from
real pros about this aspect? It seems to me people spend much more time and research
about chosing the right car for oneself, than the right spouse.
Now, I do know that a woman who marries you for your money is may be not the real deal,
and it is better to find out upfront rather than wasting few years, getting some psychological damage in the process, and may be missing the ONE during these years.

Japanese women are actually quiet different culturally from Chinese women ( Murdoch's now ex). So Soros might be in for a winner.
Getting it right is like being a winner in trading :
many people can get married :) , how many can be "winners" ? :p
many people can open a trading account, how many can be consistently winners?

Like in trading, it is best to be well prepared, do the homework, ask questions and be open minded.

Mega wtf r u talking abt ? and how relevant would it be anyway ?? I guess you're a specialist of indian family matters in Europe in Asia, I'm curious now.

And yeah, please enlighten us about the difference between japanese and chinese women, you must have plenty of experience to share about those cultures and their women.

Like in trading, experience is the best teacher. Watching other people mistakes as well.
Watching other people's success as well - including very happily married couples
who have been together more than 40 years, with no "hidden icebergs" to make
a very unhappy marriage "tolerable". I always enjoy spending time with these very strong
families where I can see very happy parents, happy children and very happy grand-children.
Each person makes their life choices. :)

...what a hypothetical question is. :)

Anyhow, Soros alumni Jim Rogers met his 3rd wife at 53 when she was 27. Currently they are 71 and 44 with 2 kids....

Their romance story:

Yes, she followed him on his wild round the world trip, at least the African part seemed very wild in his book. The news link you post doesn't go into the african part of the trip, where they crossed war torn areas according to Jim Rogers. Than they had 2 daughters and could peacefully move to cool Singapore. It's not so hassle free with a son because of mandatory 2 year military service :(

Smallstops, thank you for digging into your insight of indian, chinese and japanese relationships, it was worth waiting for your reply...

May I suggest you slow down on the "homework" in matter of ladies and put in a little fieldwork ?

I will concentrate just now on trading.
