Dude if I escaped Lebanon and made a grip off DOTM puts and have published 4+ successful books combining philosophy and optionality I might have an ego as well. Taleb will grow out of it as he gets older. Some drop the ego earlier, its all on the individual's enlightenment in this journey. But I'm a fan of Taleb, and his witty arrogance.. we need someone who calls out these academicians on their bullshit, I'm for it.

I'm happy to admit I buy books which I sometimes do not understand. But they're written by clever experts and I hoped to learn something: I suppose that's why they were written. Taleb writes things that are understandable and enjoys talking down to everyone: its an unpleasant character defect.

There is a recent Jim Rogers interview on YouTube where he is asked about Soros reflexivity theory. Jim ignores his ex partners theory and says it is Hagel. I will try and find it.

I find it interesting that Taleb makes a living off something that Soros said in 1995 in the book Soros on Soros
