Soon Honda Civics and Corollas will only be for the rich

Yes; I think so; Porsche is only for dude without family; or a dude has a middle life criss. No trunk space for grocery.

Can't comment on that one - I've got a small boy, so I've got to wait for my mid-life crisis before I get my hands on a 2-door Porsche.

M3 is better than 997 if you need backseat room on occassion. The Cayman S handles as good as the previous M3 but it is a bit low on power imo. 997's are great cars but for $70K my stacks go to the new Skyline GT-R (0 to 60 in 3.3 seconds with a twin turbo 3.8L V-6 and AWD!).

If you just have to have a sporty "BMW" then try the new 135i - exceptional power and handling (basic and somewhat bland interior) for just under $40K.

I would buy the new Audi S5 over the current M3, looks sexy and you get AWD - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aHj0zbhjLZI&feature=related

It's a 325i - thought about the xi for the Chicago winters, but it does great without the 4-wheel drive.

The Mercedes is the CLK350 convertible. It is the wife's car and she would have preferred BMW, but they didn't offer a standard red color in convertibles last year (only some metallic deep red).

(BTW - xenon headlights are worth the money if offered as an option)
