Sony Viao Screen Brightness Problem

can anybody help me understand how to brighten this laptop screen? It has shorcut keys that I think used to work, but since I loaned it to my g/f, they don`t work at all, and I need this screen a lot brighter to read charts on it! Any possible ways aud brightening my screen on this sony laptop?
 
don`t know how aud got in that thread, must be currencies on the brain, or piece of crap, wireless keyboard, but I was trying to say are there any ways to get around this problem? I just want my screen brighter, whether by keyboard shortcuts or some other way around these moribund keys. thanks
