But make no doubt about it...things are going to change in ways we can't even imagine. Its scary really when one considers worldwide population growth with fewer and fewer jobs.

I don't think this guy knows what he's talking about. It doesn't matter how many transistors a computer has, the problem is that these computers will have to evolve in order to learn to do things. Man has had billions of neurons in their brains for a very, very long time but it took a very long time for the species to learn to build a civilization.

That's a good point. I wonder if self awareness is necessary for the proper use of "intelligence". Without imagination to solve problems or come up w/solutions, the hardware is just dead weight. Then again, autistic savants don't seem to show self awareness, yet they can be incredibly "smart" in the classical sense. I just want to go bionic and augment my own intelligence. I think the holy grail will be when consciousness is transferred over into a non decaying vessel, then I'll be a decepticon.

There is already computers dominating at games like poker and chess, thats not just faster recall, they are studying a pattern and drawing a conclusion based on the pattern that is accurate enough to dictate their next decision, something only humans have been capable of to a large degree up until this point.

Yeah this was a very telling video, a bunch of pros stepped up to beat the bot by trying to change strategy and the bot read them, and destroyed them all.

That is learning, that isnt just a poker bot playing his Aces.

I think we are very close to the point with bots in the market that it will be impossible to day trade, short term trading is going to be dead, hell the really good opportunities on a daily basis are already fewer and further between, better have enough saved by then to live off long term investing cause shes all over when these things get unleashed.

Well said. Its going to be game over for daytrading and swing trading. And if what Mark Cuban is saying about where AI will be in three years...its going to be sooner than we know.

AI machines battling it out against each other are going to flatten out all the charts. The perfect solutions will be in hundredths of a point.

You young bucks better buy some used Peter Lynch books on Amazon and read up.... because thats going to be the only way to make money. Invest in companies that are well run and growing. And embrace the lost art of "patience". Sucks doesn't it.
