Price is also trading in a big channel and the 'bottom' is at 4425 ish. Not sure what to do here. Maybe wait for a short signal to take with the intention of hitting the 4425 area

This is one of the area where the sla completely falls apart. Thank youi for posting the chartn but there is no buy at 4452.75. All one needs to do is look at the 15 and 60 to see the overwhelming trend that was occurring at that point. It's better to use three time frames together to help formulate direction. If I could, where are the stop levels on the chart?

Yes, closing the short for a +17 point gain. Not taking a long position.
I then went short again soon after at 4445 and took another 11.5 points profit.
I then went long at 4425.25 which offered me 20 points.
Should have took that in hindsight and had a nice +49 NQ points on teh day.
