Hasn't necessarily happened yet...the "Today's Space Weather" site is taking forever to load so the link is useless, but here's the text:
3-day Solar-Geophysical Forecast issued Oct 23 at 22:00 UTC
Solar Activity Forecast: Solar activity is expected to be at high levels. Regions 484 and 486 are both very capable of producing major flares.
Geophysical Activity Forecast: The geomagnetic field is expected to range from active to major storm levels for the forecast period. These elevated conditions are expected as a result of the partial halo CME on 22/0754 UTC and from the X5/1b flare at 23/0835 UTC.
So major storm levels are possible throughout the 3-day period beginning Oct 23 22:00 UTC. The current chart is attached. Areas north of the 49th parallel should definately see an aurora, if of course it isn't cloudy or daytime.

But hey, even the currency markets close in an hour or so, so who cares?
