Harold Simmons, a billionaire who helped finance the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth attack ads against Senator John Kerry in the 2004 presidential election and donated substantially to other conservative causes, died on Saturday in Dallas.

The smear campaign he did was detestable.

This reminds me of the story of Donald Rumsfeld almost buying a home in Maryland where his neighbor would have been Michael Jackson.

I wonder what he got in return for contributing to the defense funds of Ollie North and Poindexter back in the 80's.
