Somali Pirates

There's a huge difference between old-school libertarians and flat-out anarchists. The former believes in a rule of law, much more so than the Demopublicans.

If there were frequent pirate attacks in U.S. coastal waters 200 years ago, do you really think people would just let it happen?

Quote from acronym:

Your not suggesting, that without a rigid and enforced rule of law, people just do whatever the hell they want?

Something for supposed libertarians to think about :p

I'm sure the pirates are very nice people, just "doin there job" and all that.

Its 2008........pirates? What? Francis Drake must be spinning in his grave.

Quote from Shaqi:

Corruption is a subjective term.

In Africa everyone says corruption - in the West its called something different like bailout, goodwill etc - private companies threatining unless they dont get public funds for free all hell will break loose - even imbecile law makers debating it - save GM,Ford etc .

Good point. I'd like to add Lobbyists to your list. Bribes = insurance premiums, oh yes, "Permits" fees to allow you to build and operate.

200 years ago, white american/british seafarers WERE the pirates, scourge of land and sea, only by naval and military superiority were they not formally known as pirates or criminals.

Worth a thought.
