Solar Stock Depression - what happened??

Through out this entire episode of solar I have yet to see one house in my neighborhood, or for that matter any neighborhood, in America with solar panels. I see them on calculators and telephones on the side of the freeway thats it. Where is the infrastructure?

Quote from circadian:

The higher the price of oil went, the more urgent and desperate we became to use alternative energy. Now that oil has halved its price, this urgency has abated. We'll do what we always do; loosen the belt, stop fretting about oil, and drink gasoline like it's New Year's Eve, 1999......that is until we get our next oil shock. See you then!

Oil has very little to do with electric prices. Solar is used for distributed generation, not gasoline.

Go ahead and call your utility then ask them to lower your rates to years ago when oil was around this level. Good luck.

Solar demand is experiencing a big slowdown in growth because its primary growth driver, Europe, is tapped out due to the credit crisis.

Quote from SCNinvestor:

when oil is cheaper, solar is unnecessary. when oil will start rising in price, the solar will be needed.

You do not know what you are talking about.
