NinjaTrader JH – Indicators v1.020

Here is another version of my indicators.

One major change is the possibility to extend a channel without changing the channel slope. This allows two ways of drawing a channel. The usual way, placing the "pt3" where one wants, and another one, that allows placing the "Pt3" on the correct Pt3 bar and then extending the channel to the right (click the green point and move the mouse to extend the channel).

There was also some bugs fixed and all the scripts should work in replay mode now. Also, there was a bug in bar colors which colored black some inside bars with close = open. Spyder suggests that in these cases, the previous bar color should be used. It is fixed now.

I changed the name of the scripts and they now all start with "PP_", I hope this make it easier to choose them from the Indicators list.

After import the zip using NT import script feature, you need to create new charts and add all the scripts that start with "PP_" to the chart. It may be better to save the template for ES and YM too.

Thanks Pepe, I was about to ask which ones to select, I unzipped your original script to find the names to look for, but this is a lot less confusing.

Well, at least I'm catching on.

Love that DOM.

I figured out how to change/extend channels without dragging the chart all over the place (a little tricky), but I still can't change the channel trendline width or color.

Selecting (clicking on) the channel brings up the choices:

Delete = Delete Channel ... pressing the delete key does delete the channel -- that works.

-/+ = Change Width ... pressing the - or the + key (the shift plus = key) does not do anything using my laptop keyboard.

* = Change Color ... pressing the * key (shift plus 8 key) on my laptop keyboard does not do anything.

I am using the latest NT version 6.5.1000.2.

Can you help lead me out of my bewildered state? Thanks.

works perfectly here, I have num lock on and I use numeric key pad, ver. 6.5.1000.1

Yep, that fixed it. On my laptop (with no separate numeric pad) the "fn" key plus the "p" key gives me the "*" function that brings up the color pallet, and the "fn" key plus the "/" key or the ";" key gives me the "-" or "+" functions needed to change the width.

I have been using QCharts for all my indicators except for the DOM. I use NT (with their DOM) with a feed from MBT for trading.

I loaded your NT script and have it working. I now have PRV and automatic Gaussians for the first time. Thank you very much.

One big difference I noticed was the volume difference from QCharts and MBT. The MBT feed is significantly less than QCharts. This is no big deal since I am trading the MBT feed.

Hi Brandx, I had the same issue with volume on QCharts (only for the most recent trading day). If you're using QCharts 6.0, you could be experiencing a bug that's causing the problem. It should be resolved on the next release. I downloaded QCharts 5.1 and the volume was no longer a problem. Hope this helps.

It looks like there were some really nice additions to this thread in the last few days. Thanks to all who have contributed. I'm looking forward to checking out the tools.

I am in QCharts 6.0. I had several problems with 5.1 that have disappeared in 6.0. The drawing tools would get slower as the day progressed to the point that I had to logoff and back on a couple times a session.

In this Ninja chart, I also noticed some of the bar colors do not read true. Some increasing price bars are red and some of the decreasing bars are black. I checked my setup and it appears to be okay.

On the attached chart, the following price bars should be Red: 8:45 9:00 9:50 11:25 11:50 12:00 12:45 and 13:05. The following should be black but are colored red: 11:30 12:35 and 12:50.

Ok, now I am getting really picky:

I wanted to keep the "Alert" sound in "PP_JHInfoBox" enabled, but the loud "ding-dong" bell sounds just like my doorbell and was driving everybody here nuts.

I created my own milder "Alert4.wav" file and substituted it for the one in "C:\Program Files\NinjaTrader 6.5\sounds". It works just fine.

Now all is well and sane here again (at least for a while).

This isn't an indicator as such, but contains C#/NT methods for getting earnings dates from Yahoo and ClearStation.

The methods themselves are generic C#, so can be easily transported elsewhere.

The indicator is currently set up to print the charted stock's earnings dates to the output window. But in the Initialize() method there's commented out code for processing a list symbols from a file.

Improvements and developments welcome...
