Software to trade on the chart

Quote from maxpi:

I just fired up Sierracharts today for the first time in awhile... I had an hour or two's experience with it a couple of weeks ago... it's nice enough, I was up and running with a chart and playing with the screen trader in probably a half an hour, I'm pretty enthused with it, it's intuitive to my way of thinking, move the pointer to the price, right click.. the top choices are market orders, which is good if you are panicking [it happens], and all the other choices are clearly described.. one thing I might change is if the price choice is below the current price then gray out all the orders that don't apply and same for if the chosen price is above the current price... It has the possibility of a bracketed ENTRY... they all have the bracketed exits but I've thought of a use for a bracketed entry [get a signal, try for a better price if possible but when price starts to move, get in without the price improvement] and didn't see it until Sierracharts.. and I've tried half the software available for retailers...

Please make your suggestions about what you would like to see on the Sierra Charts support board. If there are any problems, let us know. We should be able to get what you are looking for done because we are still doing a lot of trading development now.

Jachyra, thank you for the information. We will look into all of what you mentioned.
Just checking back with you to see if it looks like any of what was discussed actually has a shot at getting implemented any time soon (to some degree or another) or if at this point its basically a non-starter.

This is a development task that we should have done within 30 days. Also we just use the scrollbar on the window just simply as a user interface. We manage all scrolling of the chart in the Sierra Chart code.

This is not tough for us to do. It would take about half a day of development work, but we have a very busy schedule and it's not a common asked for item.

So for those instances, you just give them a hotkey. Pick any hotkey you want... pop open a modal dialog window or whatever you'd like to use... and prompt the user for the specific point in the data that they want to go to (either a date/time or a bar# or however else you think your users will want to reference their data).
We do support a hotkey to do just this. The user can enter the date and the time.

I've been a happy Sierra Chart customer for years. The customer support gang always comes through for me.
As for the original point of this thread, SC's got on screen trading, and from what I hear from the users, it's very fast.
I need to get up to speed with it, and soon.
