Quote from Thomas Jackson:
As a veteran trader and someone used professionally and managerially to dealing with (and causing) a high degree of stress, I have a few things to say to Jack about his bizarre notions of the relationship of stress to success, in trading or anything else.
Now I am anything but a sympathetic guy, so when I read the word "parasympathetic" in one of Jack's posts I am thinking "wimpathetic", because "para" is not real good as in "medic" or "legal" or "chute", I mean, not as good as what you really need. But I looked it up, and now I understand. Maybe I cain't rede two gud at my age, but I didn't see "support, comfort and confidence" in the context of "parasympathetic". What I DID see was "rest and digest". That I get, 'cause at my age I do a lot of that, after all my "fighting anf flighting" (my fight, your flight).
So here's my beef. You can take some over intellectualized pussy like Neoxx and teach him to be as parasympathetic as you want, but he is going to shit his pants when he starts trading for real. That is because Back has it Jackwards. "Support, comfort and confidence" proceed from an intimate knowledge of real market mechanics, not some from pseudoknowledge of delusions like trends and channels and PV relationship. Trading is like judo. You predict the opponent's move, flow with it, and take advantage of his overextension. That's it. Simple and pure.
God bless all you who deserve it, and damn the rest of you to hell!
