Socialist Party Pushing $20 Minimum Wage Defends $13-An-Hour Job Listing

Shameless hypocrites, they cant afford to pay more than 13$ an hour, but supposedly everyone else can.

But Doug Barnes, the party's national secretary, told The Huffington Post on Saturday that the group relies heavily on donations from low-wage workers and could not afford to pay much to an inexperienced designer.

"We're practicing what we're preaching in terms of continuing to fight for the minimum wage," Barnes said, making his first public comment on the controversy. "But we can't pay a lot more than $13."

The thing I always wondered about is why they are so sensitive about being called hypocrites. I mean, it bugs the crap out of them, almost as much as they wish being called raycciss bugged the crap out of normal people. Just own up to the fact that your beliefs are not founded on logical principles but vague feelings. You'll be much happier when you attend an anti-tobacco/pro-pot rally.

I think speed limits are a good idea. But I don't want to be the only person who has to observe them.

Sorry, not a good comparison. To use your analogy with the OP's article, you'd have to say "I'd like everyone to drive at 100mph on the highway, but I can only tolerate going 70."

Or like saying I wanr rhe speed minimum to be 150 even though my car only goes up to 100.

I think a higher minimum wage is a good idea, but until it's the law (or my competition starts paying more) I will continue paying the current minimum.

“I’m against very wealthy people attempting to or influencing elections. But as long as it’s doable I’m going to do it."

All the obfuscation deflection and apologizing in the world can't erase the obvious indisputable hypocrisy on this story.

Talk about reading into it what you want!
