Isn't free money what you wanted? Just goes to show, if Trump came up with the cure for cancer, you'd complain he put cancer researchers out of business.
I agree. I supported the initial round of stimulus because the government forced businesses to shut down for several weeks, but we have to stop printing money now. It's a natural occurrence for bad businesses to fail during an economic downturn. It's a culling of the herd that's healthy for the economy. We have to stop propping them up and allow nature to take its course.
It's bad enough that some Republicans want another $1 trillion in stimulus, but it's absolutely absurd that Democrats want $3.4 trillion. The HEROES Act covers a multitude of things that aren't even related to COVID like marijuana reform & funding pension plans. They've lost their collective mind.
I kind of hope that the negotiations fail. I'm okay with the extra $300 to $400 provided to the unemployed by Trump's EO, but I don't want to see trillions more in stimulus.

President Trump called for additional stimulus checks to be sent to Americans amid stalled talks with Democrats over a new bill to address various issues related to the coronavirus pandemic.
Both Republicans and Democrats agree that another round of stimulus checks should be included in any legislation, which is stalled after Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) ceded the GOP-side of negotiations to the White House and Trump attempted to bypass negotiations with unilateral action on a looming eviction crisis, student loans, extra weekly unemployment benefits, and payroll taxes.
The president tweeted that he had directed Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin “to get ready to send direct payments ($3,400 for family of four) to all Americans.” The tweet added that Democrats are holding up the stimulus payments, though there are several actual disagreements unrelated to stimulus checks.
