But Mr. Marcus has this completely wrong. Worker productivity is up over 250% since 1950 while wages are up only 115%.

The truth is Mr. Marcus and the rest of the c suite executives all over America have been short changing workers for decades and being overcompensated for it. And much of problems from drug use to crime would be lessened if worker compensation kept up with productivity.

Mr. Marcus doesn’t understand he IS the problem.

He is referring to the Socialism shift from the last 10 years , not since 1950, and the movement growth since covid

Most of this national productivity output index hocus pocus is fake economics.

They take the national GDP or some collective output number and divide it by the number of labor hours in a given period, or some such approach.

But that just means that more output occurred while those collective labor hours occurred. It does not mean the net increase is a result of the employees. Versus structural improvements, improved management, automation, and other technology.

Before long the output of all fast food joints will be fully automated or robot-run. That does not mean the output of the few remaining employees has increased. Only that increased output occurred during their working hours.

I go back to Maine and see Mexicans working in the fields now. I am told - as everyone is these days- that that is work that Americans will not do. Excuse me, but those are the same fields that I used to work in.

You’re as lost as Mr. Marcus. The American worker has been being squeezed for decades. It shows up in the data whether you look at wealth disparity, ceo to worker compensation, or productivity to compensation comparisons. Home Depot is especially egregious in terms of compensation and you can see their stores going downhill with your own eyes.

It is not me who has nothing because I have actual data on the subject, it is you who has nothing but an opinion.
