A rapper is an entertainer and America has this incredibly long history of black entertainers. Our very culture is wrapped around the blues and jazz and yes, rap.
I think it has helped blacks integrate because many see their humanity and decency (well, some) in their performance art.
The first thing I think when I see a rapper is I'm looking for the clock hanging on his chest because I just love that guy.
