So what will send this rally over the cliff?

Dow hasn't had 3 consecutive down days since 2012.
in my view, the market is kidnapped by computers and can only go in the orchestrated way. so regardless what we discuss or think when will the market turn or how long will this trend continue, it goes in its own way. that's called manipulation.

For all you guys that think this market is manipulated, can you link me to your posts in 2008 and the first qtr of 2009 when the market did nothing but go down every day. Or can we only manipulate the market on the upside?

What about from March 2000 to 2002 when every tech stock in the world closed in the red for 2 years straight. Can anyone link me to the manipulation threads on ET back then? Anyone? Bueler?

If by computers you mean the Fed adding zeros to bank balance sheets, then yes, you are correct.

And yes, it's manipulation. It's essentially taking wealth from those with no risk assets and giving it to people that are invested in stocks and real estate.

I'm pretty happy with the fact that I fall into that latter category and long in those markets.

If so, then why do you continue to call tops and sell short?

It was in the orchestrated way. Let me put it this way, it was predetermined to go like this or programmed to go like this. Honestly, I don't believe the market needs any news to go up or go down.

I don't care whether FED is involved. I am just saying it goes in the orchestrated way.

You asked a very good question. After thinking for a while, I think I am just greed. But I never use a great amout of money to try to catch the top. When the downside is confirmed, I will sell heavily.

We could have a spike today then go down.

Well if you're convinced that the market is manipulated, then it stands to reason that you should have a theory on WHO is doing the manipulating.

I got the impression from your post that you think Goldman Sachs or HFT are the ones manipulating the market up.

I don't buy that for a second because all of those major players don't work in a concerted effort. They would very much like to rip each others throats out if at all possible.

If what you were saying is that the Fed is manipulating it up, we could debate that, but I would say that fighting the Fed doesn't make you rich and should rarely be done.
