So what do the Liberals do now that Saddam is captured?

Quote from Maverick74:

RS,

Nice little propaganda speech there. What part of France do you live in?

Great response.

I live in the "part of France" where they drafted me into the US Army. And the "part of France" where they gave my son top secret clearance in the US Navy. We are clearly a French family.

When all else fails, remind us that Clinton cheated on his wife. That always will make GWB a GREAT PRESIDENT:confused:

You said I was wrong about the US being hated. I hope you are right. But I was recently in Asia, and that was the impression I got......There is an amazing amount of television news broadcast in Asia in the English language...that is where I got the impression. Again, I hope I am wrong, and I hope you are right. But it sure wasn't a statement I made shooting from the hip. It was actually based on what I heard and saw on the news and in the newspapers in a foreign (to me) land.

And yes, I actually DID have family killed in the holocaust. Quite a lot. But you said I didn't, and that was "the difference" between us...great assumption on your behalf! You said you were sick of all the personal attacks and other garbage I have posted. Yet obviously you haven't really read what I have written, or you NEVER would have said what you did about me not having family suffer under dictators, and the whole rest of that part of your rant.

You accused me of attacking you? How did I attack you? I asked your age? Read what you said about me, and then tell me which one of us made an acrimonious and personal post.

You claimed I have no problem with dictators? Where did that come from???????? You said I hate the US? Again, show me where you got that from???? Don't accuse me of things I never said, implied or even thought (assuming you can read my mind...since certainly you did not read what I wrote).

You even claim that I have a "fat ass"....again, who is making personal attacks? And who is making assumptions? I did NOT state your age. I ASKED your age. I made zero personal statements about you. I made observations about your political beliefs. You were and are free to dispute my conclusions. Instead, you attacked me personally.

And then you called me arrogant. And childish.

BTW, I am 6 feet tall, and weight 173 pounds. Not much fat. But what do facts mean? You said I was spewing garbage....how about an example?

I did say that it SEEMS like you believe that anyone who does not adore GWB is a "liberal"...And I said that this is just NOT TRUE. There are a lot of conservatives, a lot of libertarians, a lot of Democrats, Republicans, Americans, non-Americans, and "members" of a thousand other political and non-political groups that do not think very much of GWB, and yet are not "liberals"....My whole point was that it SEEMS like in your world, there are "good people" and "liberals". That's it. And that was my whole point.

I said that I thought you were close minded. I based that on what YOU said. I said that your kind of thinking is divisive...and I stand by that. Take a look at the cover article in last weeks "TIME" magazine. Statistics prove that GWB has the country more strongly divided about our President than any previous President. People either "love" or "hate" him.

Me? I don't "hate" him at all. As a person, as far as I know, he is a decent human being. As a leader, I think he is just not qualified. But how can I "hate" someone I don't know? Certainly I would never base my beliefs on ANY person on news coverage and editorials. Yet you never met Clinton, but I can guess (based on YOUR WORDS) that you probably "hate" him. And you told us why. How do you feel about Hillary Clinton? She didn't cheat on her husband and/or family....but I am pretty sure you have your reasons to "hate" her too...I know, insider trading, drug smuggling, murder, etc. Jerry Falwell told me all that too. The thing is, I presume innocence until guilt is proven. I always thought that was the American way. Maybe you like Hillary?? Do you??

Make your statements. Make your arguments. But don't put words in my mouth, or assumptions of what I think. You have no clue what I believe ...other than what I say here. So if you want to dispute what I say, fine. Don't make shit up and attribute it to me.

Maverick...I looked at the times of your posts..I was curious if you were a trader or just liked to hang out on ET and post until well after the sun rises. (OK, maybe you live on the west coast, and it was still dark there....but the markets still open at the same moment there that they do on the east coast).

When do you sleep? When do you work?

Maybe you live and trade in the Orient? That would account for your hours. And of course, it would make a wonderful argument on my behalf...I could say "What part of North Korea do you live in"? Then I would be as clever as you.

Peace,
:)RS

Pabst, if any of the above people ever move out of the San Francisco Bay Area I will agree with your argument. Until then, I'm not swayed.

And until then, the only place that I would ever feel compelled to spend any vacation time back East would be Newport, Rhode Island.

The Hamptons?

Yuck!

:)

Alice Waters! WTF!! A cook at a bistro in the East Bay is a celeb!!! ROFL!

Is it just me? Is there a strange contradiction buried somewhere in this? Or is Bobcathy NOT defending GWB, but subtly denouncing him?

Huh? Naw...I am not joking on this one. I think his dad should have gotten Saddam when he was there the first time. Shot him right between the eyes.

When I created my list, I listed a number of people that I would love to sit down and meet and actually have dinner with here in the Bay Area . . . I could have also mentioned people like Barry Bonds or Joe Montana, but I really have no interest in meeting them.

Pabst, I really couldn't care less about sitting down to dinner with ORCA, Louis Farrakan or Richard Marx!

Nice try though!

Error, I can tell you without an ounce of doubt that Maverick is not a resident of the West Coast. Try Florida, or maybe Chicago, but definitely not the West Coast.

And yes, I must admit that you make a very interesting observation that our dear friend Maverick has a tremendous amount of time on his hands to post on ET at all hours of the day and night.

My guess, is that he is not a trader nor even an active trader, but instead is an operations guy at a B/D in Florida somewhere.
Just my hunch.

Bush signs bill extending FBI powers
By Associate Press, 12/15/2003

WASHINGTON -- President Bush has signed legislation making it easier for FBI agents investigating terrorism to demand financial records from casinos, car dealerships, and other businesses.

The changes were included in a bill authorizing 2004 intelligence programs. Most of the details of the bill are secret, including the total cost of the programs, which are estimated to be about $40 billion. That would be slightly more than Bush had requested.

Bush signed the bill Saturday, the White House announced.

The bill expands the number of businesses from which the FBI and other US authorities conducting intelligence work can demand financial records without seeking court approval.

Under current law, "national security letters" can be issued to traditional financial institutions, such as banks and credit unions, to require them to turn over information. The bill expands the definition of financial institution to include other businesses that deal with large amounts of cash.

Supporters of the change say it will help authorities identify money laundering and other activities that fund terrorism. But some lawmakers and civil liberties advocates say the change does not provide enough safeguards to ensure that authorities will not violate the privacy of innocent people.

In other provisions, the bill:

Requires the CIA director to prepare a report as soon as possible on what intelligence agencies have learned from their experiences in Iraq.

Creates a Treasury Department office to work with intelligence agencies on fighting terrorist financing.

Creates pilot programs to share raw data between agencies.

Authorizes agencies to continue research on computerized terrorism surveillance suspended by the Pentagon.

Well you also mentioned Danny Glover on your list. Isn't he that ex actor who was fired as a sellout mouthpeice for troubled MCI-WCOM. Think it had something to do with making anti-American comments. Yea I'd like to eat with him too. Bet he orders a dick sandwich.:D

You are correct my friend!

And precisely the reason why a proud American such as myself would like to meet with Mr. Glover. I'd love to ask him why he supports Fidel Castro, and how he could equate U.S. soldiers to terrorists! Seriously, I'd really like to hear him explain his position with a straight-face, that's all.

And this guy sees himself as a human rights activist!!!

Maybe we can have a Chi-Bay Area luncheon. Cusack, Aggassi, you and me at one table. We'll stick Oprah with Farrakhan and Glover at the table next to us.

wiggley has no interest in such people. And I'm sure Barry and Joe are all broken up about it.

only problem is that these people would never, ever dine with stalker wiggle, not even in his wettest dreams. maybe they'd dine with nolan-vinny though!
