So. The states whose residents have the shortest lifespans are . . .

Remember when reps caught that guy "ballot stuffing"? Lol. To be fair, ebola was about to destroy America at that time, too. WE WERE SCARED SILLY.

The ballot stuffing guy could have cleared up the misunderstanding at the time if he had just responded in a civil manner with what he was doing. Because he responded with such profanity and hostility, the monitor thought something was amiss.

I'm sure we could bring up all sorts of horseshit the left thought until it was cleared up or proven wrong. Hell, that raid that occurred two days ago that "alternet" and db were up in arms over is a perfect example.

next.

Given the conservative cuts in "Great Society" programs beginning with Nixon, why is it a surprise that these programs did not deliver what was expected? And why is it a surprise that minorities have no interest in voting for Republicans, given that they have no reason to expect any help whatsoever?

Sorry I must have not understood yourpoint above when you linked "conservative cuts" to the GS not delivering what was expected.

So now you don't think lack of funds was a problem?

Why is it a requirement to have documented cases of widespread vote fraud to require sensible ID to vote? Isn't nipping vote fraud in the bud a good idea?

We know in other areas liberals are quite prepared to infringe peoples' rights and impose burdensome requirements merely to assuage their irrational fears, eg gun and climate hysteria.

You fail to remember that the largest cuts to "Great Society" programs occurred under President Clinton (workfare, reduced benefits, eligibility limit drops, etc.). The Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act promised to “end welfare as we know it.” It included major cuts in the food stamps program and denied benefits to undocumented immigrants. The bill set work requirements for most welfare recipients and limited the length of time that they could receive assistance, making it a substantial change to the welfare system. Clinton placed considerable emphasis on personal “responsibility” and in particular, the idea that welfare mothers needed to learn “responsibility.”

Let's look at some of Clinton's statements:

In May 1991, Clinton said “opportunity for all is not enough… For if we give opportunity without insisting on responsibility, much of the money can be wasted and the country’s strength can still be sapped. So we favor responsibility for all. That’s the idea behind national service. It’s the idea behind welfare reform.”

In June of 1996, Clinton said “First and foremost, community programs must stress abstinence and personal responsibility. A program cannot be successful unless it gives our children the moral leadership they need to say no to the wrong choices and yes to the right ones.”

In the Summer of 1996, Clinton said “A long time ago… I concluded that the current welfare system undermines the basic values of work, responsibility and family, trapping generation after generation in dependency and hurting the very people it was designed to help.”

Liberals fail to recognize this while prattling on about the evil conservatives. So much for America's first "black" president - as they called him.

While we are at it let's discuss the facts about Welfare and race. I have seen endless assertions that most of the people on Welfare are white and from red states. This is not true.

The percentage of people on welfare who are white is 38.8 %. The percentage of people on welfare who are black is 39.8%

The majority of people receiving welfare live in Blue states, not Red states. This is because the overall population in crowded blue states is much higher.

28.75% of Blacks are on Welfare. 5.13% of Whites are on Welfare.
