So the sky really is falling

Apparently , it might have fallen somewhere. Maybe.

Let's try a scenario on. 200 years time, there is so much space junk shit floating at low orbit, it all comes crashing down at once, wiping out the dinosaurs. By which I mean, humans.
Plausible? Nuclear satellites we don't know about......or, normal satellites transmit so much bad TV and re-runs and Ad's, the humans revolt against what passed as entertainment 200 years ago.

A few years back they created standards that anything we put into space must meet strict new requirements that its makeup must be made of materials that will not survive re-entry. This recent satellite was built sometime back in the 60's or 70's before these new standards were put in place. So this issue should not be a problem going forward.

It would make for a good movie though!
