VIX futures have pretty massive liquidity, have you looked at those? You could join in with all the cool kids and sell vol

Also, check out far-month eurodollar contracts including the spreads, tons of liquidity there.

Right now the ES is hardly worth trading but 1.7 points a week speaks of a weak trade plan. Even in this environment with a decent plan and good discipline multiples of that are available. BTW, the NQ is a better trader but you might need to get used to wilder price action. But forget about size.

I do want to point out.. that if he has a 1 mln account size, 150 contracts wouldn't necessarily be a big drama... that equates to 18x leverage... Lots of guys using full margin capacity, but it wouldn't be my standard size.

It's not like he would trade full margin with $500 daytime margin requirements... (I assume)...
