They are trying the Alex Jones/Sandyhook playbook.Kanye caused distress to Floyds family by lying about his death.
In a way by saying Floyd died by OD when the medical examiners said Chavon caused his death.
yeah, that's going nowhere. Enough bad press can push him to a settlement tho

The risk of similar judgement at trial probably causes Kanye to settle for more than the city paid Floyds family imo.

How so?
right off the top of my head (we need ocho to tear it apart):
1) Floyd did have drugs in his system so "implying" death by OD isn't disparaging, just erroneous/speculative.
2) Distress over words isn't a payable thing (1st amendment).
3) Sandy Hook families were hammered w/years of continuous harassment spurred by continuous accusation of Jones, even after being warned of the damage he was causing. These aren't "hurt feelings" these are cultists hanging to Jones every word going to people's properties and physically making their life a living hell. Read Stochastic terrorism
4) Kanye's visibly mental. We don't jail/punish people for saying shit when mentally ill in this country. Think adult w/down's saying this shit.
5) The OD theory did not originate w/Kanye, fox ran w/it for weeks so he's just parroting MAGA talking points.
Hopefully Kanye feels embarrassed/guilty/remorseful/nutty enough to pay up if the press runs w/the story (I find it hard for it to take off there too).
