When was El Paso predominantly white? The leftist theory is places which were mostly white and have now shifted to non white are better and safer places to live. Prove that theory to me.
So being white before is a precondition, I see.
I don't care about ethnicity, race, religion, gender, or orientation. I dislike everyone the same amount. 
Diversity is a great thing. The world would be a boring place if we were all the same. I'm all for legal immigration. I'm glad that the U.S. opens its arms every year to far more legal immigrants than any other country in the world. But I don't like illegal immigration.

I'd say explore the issue from an objective viewpoint, check your sources, it's not a big a problem as the right wing media would have you believe.
I think more than anything it's the principle of the act that bothers me. I have a great deal of respect for the people that immigrate here legally. They've gone through a long & difficult process to prove that they deserve to be a U.S. citizen. It bothers me that others simply hop a fence and disregard our laws.
Now that is curious, isn't it? Goes to show that owning a gun talking shit and using it in a time of crisis are two entirely different things. Something the I need a gun to protect myself with should give some thought. Lets you know when the shit hits you're on your own more often than not.
That's the misconception most people can't get around. The process is slanted to benefit a few (those with family ties, loaded and can afford to open a business, or come from countries w/o quotas (Europe, Canada, etc...)). The people jumping the fence just can't afford to wait the process, they're either a few weeks from starving, fleeing for their lives, or straight up don't have the means (money wise, education wise, etc...). You can't expect a mother of three who's aged out to all of the sudden get a college education so she can apply for a green card. Best we can do is give them a fair treatment as they're returned to their country.

The demographic shift will make the U.S. more like Latin America. Latin America has some positive attributes but it's generally a poor, corrupt, and somewhat violent place which doesn't contribute much to broader human progress.
To look at things from another angle, let's say it's 1960 and I propose to double the U.S. population by importing peasants from Honduras, Guatemala, and Mexico. Would anyone have voted for that? Does it remotely seem like a good idea?
