Snowman's Eurostoxx 50 Journal

Valentine's day wasn't too good to me. I picked a fight with the trend. Got in too early and dropped -5 pts. Got in long again. Better trade with divergence support. Scratched it for +1 pt just in time.

In the afternoon, I took 2 trades. Both scratched for -2 pts and 0 pts. I was too strict with my stop as market then rebound but I probably just shouldn't have been in either of those trades.

Will post a 2nd chart in additional post as the first 2 trades were in sim, while the second 2 trades were in my real account.

Only 1 trade yty.

I look a long at 3017 with my stop at 3010 (low) and 3027 tgt. Target was hit pretty quickly.

The market opened above yty's POC of 3021 and pushed down. As you see on my chart there was 2 dotted lines. These are the 2 POCs from the day before. Market sold off the upper previous day's POC and found support at the the lower previous day's POC. I took my trade after I saw the spring (shown in yellow) which indicated a test and some buying coming in.

Also forgot to mention that the previous day's POCs (dotted lines) were yty's UVA and LVA and so I left them there. Nice reaction :)
 
Again just 1 trade yty. Wasn't really my typical setup, as price never came close to the POC. One could say that it got close and bounced. But want to be a little strict as I'll end up in risky situations.

Anyway, I tried to get in with the strong trend. Took a long but scratched it when it didn't continue immediately for -2. After the fact, the market looked like it created some good support. And there was a dvg on the MACD too. Could have taken a long and used the low of that range (showed in box) for my stop but didn't.

Took a long off the POC which I scratched for -1 pts after I saw a couple of down candles. Too bad cause it would have went to my target but still good to scratch as not much follow through.

Then I scratched a short for 0 pts. So far so good. Bad thing was I remained in short mode and ended up dropped -2 pts when my short didn't work. Shouldn't have been in that trade.

Been a tough week. Losses in every day but one. Today, lost all all three trades, 3 pts each :( Had enough for today and got a headache so shutting down.

First trade I tried a long with POC and dvg support (-3). When that failed and the market pushed down I figured I could get profit from a short. On what looked like a test and sellers candle (long red candle with volume and long upper wick) I got in short. Dropped another -3 pts. Tried the short again, only to get stopped again...

Oh well. I think I could have avoided the first lost. Looking back at my records I think I should find price confirmation of the move in my direction before entering countertrend. Then enter at a limit and if filed fine, otherwise... next... something for me to think about.
