Snow because of global warming!

Quote from bugscoe:
As record snowfall crippled the mid-Atlantic this week, many Republicans used the blizzard-like conditions to argue that global warming is a hoax. We speak to climate scientist Brenda Ekwurzel of the Union of Concerned Scientists, who argues the extreme weather is in fact a part of global warming.

"Arguing that something is a part of" =/= "causes"

Quote from Tresor:

Of course extreme weather does not cause global warming. In fact recent few thousand years have very low rate of temperature change when compared to previous periods. There is nothing exceptional about today's weather to justify calling it ''extreme''.

You have already stated that CO2 lags temperature change. If your post here is correct, where is the temperature change (you have already written that it is not happening.)?

No. You have unsuccessfully tried to convince a member of this forum that CO2 leads temperature.

What you wrote is typical pseudo-scientific gibberish jargon.

Because you don't understand it? Do you understand that a CO2 molecule is extra-efficient at absorbing infra-red energy?

ok, so global warming is not responsible for any extreme weather of any kind?

Quote from bugscoe:

Actually the incorrect statement was that extreme weather "causes" global warming -- exactly the reverse.

Quote from bigdavediode:

Biology ignorant?

Yes.

Quote from bigdavediode:

You have posted video that temperature levels are not increasing.

I have posted a video showing that temperature levels have been changing. Recent changes are not an anomaly.

Quote from bigdavediode:

Let me sum your rant up: nothing factual about global warming can be concluded by any statement in front of a film shown in a school, and it's sad that you think it was an argument.

It is sad that thousands of people were deceived by your climate guru's movie ''Inconvenient truth''.

So your answer is yes, global warming causes extreme weather?

Quote from dcraig:

Monckton is the village idiot of climate science. His views carry no weight at all in the scientific community.

And I suspect your views carry more weight...

Quote from bugscoe:

So your answer is yes, global warming causes extreme weather?

That's a different conversation, and it's impossible to tie individual weather events to global warming (at this time).

However, it's likely that this is true, at least for some areas of the planet, but not relevant to the conversation at hand as it is not provable.

Quote from Tresor:

And I suspect your views carry more weight...

His views have to carry more weight in the scientific community, as his views have not yet been publicly discredited as Lord Moncton, 3rd Viscount Monckton of Brenchley, has been discredited.

Yes.

I have posted a video showing that temperature levels have been changing. Recent changes are not an anomaly.

So when you said that temperature lags CO2, you meant that it was because temperature changed at some point in the past, but is not changing now, therefore CO2 levels are increasing.

Do I have your position correct?

It is sad that thousands of people were deceived by your climate guru's movie ''Inconvenient truth''.

I still have not seen the movie. I suggest you find more reliable sources of information than Youtube and movies.
