Snoflakes leaving Google due to 'discrimination' from white males

If you Google her name, you will find she is highly educated and successful in her career so far. It would actually be far more appropriate to be criticizing the manifesto guy then her. You might want to ask yourself why you and other posters are quick to condemn a young women who was unsure how to handle sexism in the workplace versus the Damore guy who basically imploded because he had to attend some seminars.

Can we just be critical of them both if we are not sure? ;)

The guy who posted the memo was.. stupid. Maybe one day a legend but for now..

35% Asian in Google. Is the issue that Asian men are sexist to Asian women blocking their advance? "I was invisible"..in a gigantic corporation..that is a new complaint alright. ‘I emotionally shut down.’ at a lame attempt at humor...

Sounds like she had depression and figured a dramatic exit would make her feel better. I've done that myself in my 20s.

Qichen Zhang couldn’t believe what she was hearing. The technical specialist was in the middle of the office at Google when a white male colleague began joking with her about her hiring.

“He said, ‘It must’ve been really easy for you to get your job because you’re an Asian woman and people assume you’re good at math,’” Zhang recalled in a recent interview. “It was absolutely stunning. I remember me just emotionally shutting down.”

If she was confident that she got hired because of her skills, she wouldn't have "emotionally shut down" But the fact is, it probably was true...she got hired just because she's an Asian woman and she knows it...that's why it hurt so bad. Especially when it comes from someone who everyone KNOWS they earned their spot at google.

You might be committing an egregious violation just by assuming that she is a woman. The rules of the road are not as clear as they used to be.

I am pretty sure that the day will come when just saying "after all, we are all human beings" will need to be qualified a bit. You might even need to apologize for it.

You aren't a sane person.

Sounds like a compliment. Stereotyping but complimentary.
