Jussie Smollett committed felony criminal fabrication of a "crime". This is steps beyond false reporting of the crime. Even worse Smollett committed his crime with the intent of of targeting whites and President Trump supporters with retaliation.

Smollett needs to be convicts and be sent to jail for a period of several months as well as fined to pay compensation to the police for wasting hours investigating his fabrications.

Left-leaning "fact checking" sites -- which themselves foster disinformation regularly and are not trustworthy - declaring Donald Trump lies is a very different situation than Smollett's criminal acts.
