Soros did not get his money's worth this time around.

Y'all will remember back to the early days of this Jesse Smegma farce.

The Prosecutor, Kim Foxx, dismissed the charges and collaborated backchannel with Smollett family and cronies and all sorts of celebrities and political power players. A special prosecutor was appointed to investigate and she eventually withdrew from the case when things were looking bad for her.

Guess who contributed 2 million to her cook county campaign? Yeh. Our man Soros. Asswipe incarnate.

Looks like the usual characters that have been mentioned before.

The only new one (new to me, possibly not to those who follow it) was the CEO of Barclays having a sudden need to resign- last month- from his position as British investigators closed in on his connections to Epstein. Never has a good look to it.

Personally, I think the greatest exposure for some of the side players - and unidentified big players- will be after the trial if she is convicted. The prosecutors are on Maxwell's case and so are the girls with their attorneys but none of them know even the smallest fraction of the larger picture that Maxwell knows about. She has a vested interest in not naming them because they will pile on to her and testify against her as well as they flail around to protect themselves. But if she is convicted, prosecutors are likely to play the age-old game of asking the court to delay sentencing for six months or some period so that they can consider her cooperation on other investigtions as part of their sentencing request to the court. Yeh. That will be a chance to shave a little off of her slammer time. That chance won't be there for long though.
 
The conviction carries a sentence up to 3 years but he has no prior arrests or convictions. It is possible that he will get probation.

Given the coverage, however, and the complete lack of him taking responsibility and continuing to lie he will probably get 12-18 months.

I have to admit to feeling some satisfaction with several recent verdicts.

At a minimum, Jussie Smollet should be made an example of. He should be made to pay a fine equal to the man hours spent by police, a huge penalty to deter others. I think he should pay atleast, $1.5 million in damages. Plus, he needs to be locked up for 1-2 years to deter others from engaging in such acts in the future. More likely, he will get a slap in the wrist being a very privileged extreme liberal with ties to the Obamas. Probation and community service probably, will be the sentence. I hope I am wrong and the judge enforces the law this time and hold Jussie Smollet accountable.
 
The judge should throw the book at Smollett. Hate crimes and discrimination actually happen to people and are the reason why we have laws against those sort of things. Pulling this stunt undermines the integrity of the law and mocks every true victim of hate crimes and discrimination.
 
He most likely will get probation but ideally the judge will throw in a three month sentence in jail or so just to make a point. And that's fine. Well, not really fine, but in context where not manyis getting locked up for even extremely violent crimes these days in Chicago. I just did not want to see him skate. I don't think the sentencing guidelines would call for much here regardless of what a drip he is.

The thing that complicates his sentencing a bit is that he actually has a prior when it comes to lying his arse off. He was convicted in California of lying to police when his brother was arrested for a DUI by saying that he/smollett was actually driving. or some such scenario.

Now Smollett has perjury and hoax convictions in front of him and has a prior for lying and hoaxing, so that gives the message to the court that this guy is still doing what he does best.ie. be a lying, hoaxing asswipe.
